What do we have to look forward to in the 2018 Ford F-150 coming this fall? Kelley Blue Book editors got their hands on a four of them, and gave their first impressions of four of the six available engines:

  • 3.3-liter V6: Great for driver's looking for a more affordable and fuel-efficient option, who will only need light towing and hauling capability (up to 7,700 pounds and 1,990 pounds, respectively).
  • 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6: Versatile combination of fuel economy (26 mpg highway), towing (8,500 pounds), and payload (2,470 pounds), ideal for most boats and trailers. Most popular option.
  • 5.0-liter V8: Best payload rating (3,270 pounds), but worst fuel economy (23 mpg highway). Classic V8 sound and feel will appeal to many drivers. High tow rating (11,600 pounds).
  • 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6: Best-in-class tow rating (13,200 pounds), better gas mileage (25 mpg highway) and payload only slightly below the V8. Second only to the high-output F-150 Raptor engine.

KBB.com also praised the 2018 F-150 for being easy to use and drive, and offering a wide range of luxury options for those inclined to go upscale.
