The 2027 Ford Expedition is a carryover year with real additions, not a redesign. It continues on the generation introduced for 2025. The nameplate turns thirty, and Ford marked it with a Platinum only appearance package, three new colours and more screen than most living rooms.

Thirty years
The 30th Anniversary Appearance Package
The Expedition nameplate arrived in 1996. Ford marked the anniversary with a package that is exclusive to Platinum and brings special badging, unique wheels and new paint.
Three colours are new for 2027 across the range:
- Bronze Fire Metallic Tinted Clearcoat
- Nocturnal Blue Metallic
- Blue Ember Metallic, exclusive to the Anniversary package
If a specific colour matters to you, say so early. Anniversary allocation on a thirty year package is not open ended, and what reaches the lot at 498 Courthouse Road is whatever we ordered months before.

A 24 inch panoramic display, and somewhere to put the tablet
The 2027 Expedition carries a standard 24 inch panoramic display across the top of the dash, with an available 13.2 inch centre display below it.
The more interesting addition is the available Flex Powered Console, which slides to change what the space between the front seats is for, and a kid friendly device holder that exists because somebody at Ford has driven children to Myrtle Beach.
Three rows seat seven or eight depending on configuration. Expedition MAX adds 11.8 inches of cargo length behind the third row, which is the difference between the family luggage fitting and the family luggage going on somebody's lap from Princeton to the coast.
Expedition Tremor
A full size SUV with 33 inch all terrain tires
Expedition Tremor brings Rock Crawl mode and 33 inch all terrain tires to a three row SUV. It is the configuration that makes sense if your driveway is a quarter mile of gravel and January is a real event.
Tremor is offered on the standard wheelbase only, so it is the one trim you cannot get as a MAX. That is the trade: off road geometry or maximum cargo length, not both.
For a family in Mercer County that splits time between the interstate and forest roads around the New River Gorge, it is worth driving before deciding it is more truck than you need.

Can the Expedition Tremor really go off road?
It is a genuine factory off road model rather than an appearance package. It brings Rock Crawl mode and 33 inch all terrain tires on a full size three row SUV. For gravel forest roads around the New River Gorge or a long unpaved driveway in a Mercer County winter, it is the configuration that makes sense.
