Bronco Filson
Filson has been making outdoor clothing in Seattle since 1897, which makes this a more coherent partnership than most. The 2027 Bronco Filson pairs upscale materials with the off road hardware rather than choosing between them.

Bronco RTR
Where Filson is the considered one, Bronco RTR is not. RTR is Vaughn Gittin Jr's outfit, and the series is built around high speed off road performance rather than low speed crawling.
Inside, it is unmistakable. The RTR interior runs Hyper Lime accent details, which is a choice, and one that the people buying an RTR are making deliberately.
Like the Filson, it is orderable now at your Ford dealer. Both are new series rather than packages, so allocation is its own conversation. If you want one, start it early.
Engine
The 3.0L EcoBoost reaches further down the range
The 3.0L EcoBoost V6 produces 380 horsepower and 440 lb-ft of torque. For 2027 it becomes available on Outer Banks, Badlands and Heritage, and is standard on Filson.
Ford also rethought the seats, and the thinking is sound. Outer Banks with the Lux Package now uses premium vinyl instead of leather. Badlands gets upgraded Marine Grade Vinyl, including the first power adjustable MGV seat on the series.
On a vehicle whose roof and doors come off, vinyl that shrugs off a rainstorm is a better material than leather. This is a rare case of a cheaper material being the upgrade.
Big Bend can now be had with a heated steering wheel, which in a January on US-460 is not a trivial box to tick.

Why did Ford switch the Bronco to vinyl seats?
Because the roof and doors come off. On a vehicle that gets rained in, vinyl that wipes dry is the better material. This is one of the rare times the cheaper material is the upgrade.

Is the Bronco a good vehicle for southern West Virginia?
It is well matched to the terrain. Between the Hatfield-McCoy trail system, gravel forest roads through the Jefferson National Forest and real winters in Mercer County, four wheel drive with genuine ground clearance earns its keep here in a way it does not everywhere. The Filson and RTR answer that question in two different ways, one built for rough ground at low speed and one for rough ground at speed.
